The Annual South Dakota American Advertising Awards (the “ADDYs”) Competition is the first of a three-tiered national competition conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). The ADDY Awards Competition is the industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence. Entry into the ADDY Awards supports our entire industry, because the AAF and its local and district memberships use the proceeds to enhance advertising through programs such as public service, internships, advocacy groups, advertising education and consumer awareness.
Selection of the most creative entry in each category is effected by a scoring process in which a panel of judges evaluates all creative dimensions of every entry. In each category, a GOLD ADDY is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the competition. Entries that are also considered outstanding and worthy of recognition receive a SILVER ADDY. The number of awards given in each category is determined by the judges, based on the relative quality of work in that category.

November 26, 2018 – Call to Entries Open
December 13, 2018 – Nominations Open for Silver Medal, Creative Legacy, and Heart of SDAF Award
January 4, 2019 – Call to Entries Close – Drop off Date
January 10, 2019 – Late Drop off date (Prices increase by $20 per entry and campaign)
January 25-26, 2019 – Judging Weekend
February 22, 2019 – The 53rd Annual American Advertising Awards (ADDYs) at The Washington Pavilion, Sioux Falls
