MANAGER, CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS PRIMARY FUNCTION: Manage the corporate communications initiatives of Black Hills Corporation (BHC), including internal communications and creative solutions; lead the development and execution of corporate communications strategies designed to enhance the company’s reputation, and connect internal and designated external stakeholders to our vision, mission, values and corporate strategic goals; manage team of communications and design professionals; develop strategies to oversee and administer deployment of the corporate brand standards; support the communications needs of designated corporate functions and business units. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Director, Corporate Affairs ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Lead and supervise team of communications professionals and designers Develop and implement internal communications plans and strategies in support of internal corporate clients and initiatives Ensure consistent use of corporate brand and image Develop communications strategies and channels to connect employees to our corporate vision, mission, values and strategic goals and corporate initiatives Develop strategies to build our brand and reputation with customers and other stakeholders in partnership with the Community Affairs, Governmental Affairs, Customer Service, Investor Relations, utility business development (products and services), energy efficiency and other operations functions Manage digital media strategies and platforms for external and internal-facing communications Identify and implement strategies to enhance our reputation and develop partnerships by engaging the corporation, its leaders and employees with community stakeholders and the media Manage other projects as necessary. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Senior Corporate Management, , VPs of regulated and non-regulated business units, Human Resources, Customer Service, Information Technology, Safety, Investor Relations, Regulatory, Community Affairs, Governmental Affairs; Natural Gas and Electric Utility Operations. External: Customers; designated community leaders, regional and trade media. EXPERIENCE: Experience leading and supervising direct reports and/or project teams. Experience with leading corporate and/or organizational communications functions and/or projects. Experience with successful development and execution of public relations, marketing communications and customer communications plans. History of successful project management and execution. Experience with speaking and presenting before the public and groups. Minimum of ten years’ experience working in communications, public relations, or related business function. Experience in the energy industry preferred. EDUCATION: Minimum of Bachelor degree. KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of retail utility, electric, natural gas, oil, natural resource, environmental, and other energy issues. Knowledge of communications, marketing and public relations strategies, processes and procedures. Knowledge of media and other communications platforms. Knowledge of the corporation and its subsidiaries. Knowledge of business strategies, principles and success factors.
