Dax Patton, Business Development Manager at SXSW will discuss how a non-traditional career path led him to a new role at one of the most influential and unique events in the world. Dax Patton is a startup co-founder, marketer, salesman, technologist, proud AAF Member, and currently a Business Development Manager at SXSW in Austin, TX. He has a passion and strong understanding of business processes/development, technology, experiential marketing, and strategic selling across a vast array of industries. His career unexpectedly began at a leading staffing agency where he learned the importance of strong hiring processes.
After corporate life, Dax spent 5 years building marketing and sales for Digital Touch Systems (DTS) in Austin, TX. DTS is a touch screen manufacturer and software development company with a focus on Digital Out Of Home (DOOH) initiatives.
Dax has worked with a broad range of client companies including Facebook, Google, Samsung, IBM, Thermo Fisher, GSD&M, Frog Design, Pernod Ricard, Bar Rescue, Mazda, Compass Group USA, Prudential, Hitachi, and many more.
Dax has worked with cutting edge solutions such as detection technologies that allow customers to utilize cameras as intelligent sensors. Through the use of facial detection technology, he had the opportunity to provide IBM’s Watson with vision for the first time.
In his free time, Dax enjoys reading up on the latest tech trends, flying drones, traveling, and spending time with friends, family, and his dog.
