Liquid Art: Artistic Adventures with Surly Brewing Co.
Born amidst a howling hurricane on a whaling vessel in the North Sea, Michael Berglund was abandoned in Bayan-Ölgii, Mongolia, and was raised by Animist Shamans in a tribal yurt.
Studying form under the great Antarctican gelatin master, Oorvid Syskitilian, Michael produced several monumental Jello sculptures before turning his attention to the underground pet hair art scene. His early work “Terrier About Town” won grand master prize at the Woof Woof festival in Antwerp. Following that, he turned his attention and talents to dinosaurs, where several museums have neglected to exhibit his work, which one small child at least has called, “Awesome!”.
Today, Michael lives peacefully atop a telephone pole in Minnesota, protesting the slaughter of mosquitoes, and makes his personal art entirely out of dried fern spores. He also is Creative Director for Surly Brewing Co.,
and writes fabricated official biographies for himself.
