Now What? Workshops 2018: Hands-on workshops to build web content skills.

January 23, 2018: Sioux Falls, SD – Now What? Workshops, a two day workshop event designed to give attendees the know-how to manage and unlock the potential of their website, is taking place at Icon Event Hall in Sioux Falls, SD, on April 25-26, 2018.

This is the sixth year that Blend Interactive, a web design, development and strategy firm, has organized and hosted a Now What? Event in Sioux Falls. This year, the focus will shift from a traditional web conference to two full days of workshops, which will allow attendees to spend time not just learning, but applying their own work to the topics covered. The workshops will be facilitated by some of the best minds in web, and will cover a variety of web topics including accessibility, content strategy, web writing, search engine optimization, and more.

“In my opinion, Now What? Conference always did a great job of providing a survey of the post-launch web content landscape,” says Corey Vilhauer, Now What? Workshops curriculum director and Blend Interactive’s User Experience Architect. “But year after year, the feedback was always the same: ‘If only we could have more hands-on workshops!’ This year, we’re doing just that.”

The first day of workshops will kick off on Wednesday, April 25:

  • Laura Creekmore, President of Creek Content, will host “Content structure: An editor’s perspective.”
  • Scott Kubie, Senior Content Strategist with Brain Traffic will help lead a workshop on building a digital writing toolbox, offering attendees strategies, apps, tools, tricks, and best practices for website content and SEO.

The conference continues on Thursday, April 26:

  • “The Accessible Editor” with Corey Vilhauer, User Experience Architect at Blend Interactive. Attendees will learn ways to optimize and make all aspects of their website and brand accessible to everyone.
  • “Understanding Customers: Data, Journeys and Insights,” hosted by Jon Crowley with Cossette, will dive deep into what metrics matter and what needs to be measured to help attendees better understand how their website is performing and actionable steps for improvement.
