Former Paulsen intern Tyler Meints joined the staff September 1 as account coordinator. He assists with day-to-day coordination on key Paulsen accounts, handling a wide variety of responsibilities.
“One of the reasons I like Paulsen is that it’s interesting to be part of agriculture,” says Tyler. “It has broad and lasting global impact, and it’s an important field.”
Prior to his internship at Paulsen, which began on May 15 this year, Tyler was the head debate coach at Vermillion high school, as well as a research assistant and administrative assistant at the University of South Dakota (USD).
Tyler graduated from USD with a bachelor’s in communications and a minor in political science, which dovetails with his interest in debate.
Paulsen President Sara Steever says, “Tyler’s background in research adds depth to a growing service offering at Paulsen. His ability to compile information and find the signal in the noise of research is a great addition to our team.”
Tyler grew up in Sturgis, S.D., where his father owns a construction company. Although the most recent generation in his family to farm was his great-grandparents, Tyler’s no stranger to hard work. “I poured concrete during summers to put myself through college,” he says.
Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities such as canoeing, biking, snowboarding, hiking and traveling.
Tyler appreciates the collaborative environment at Paulsen. “People want to work together and solve problems together,” he says.
“Also, I enjoy being surrounded by people I can learn from,” he adds. “Paulsen offers a great deal of opportunity to employees at all levels.”
Paulsen is among the top 10 ag agencies in the country. Our purpose is straightforward and authentic—always advocate for agriculture. We support it, promote it and believe in it. But most of all, we are here to help lead it. www.paulsen.ag (http://paulsen.ag)
