Upcoming Changes At SDAF

Executive Director Announces Departure

For over a dozen years Ruth Ann Scott has been a leader in the South Dakota marketing community as the executive director of the South Dakota Advertising faceshot20-croppedFederation (SDAF). She has championed on behalf of the industry – promoting and protecting the well-being of advertising in the state.

For the past seven of those years, Ruth Ann has juggled SDAF with her passion for interior design; she is the owner of her own business, The Living Door.

At Thursday’s SDAF luncheon, Ruth Ann announced she is stepping down as director of the SDAF to put more energy and focus on her business. “I get really emotional when I think about it, but it’s time,” Scott says, “It’s time to give The Living Door more of my attention.”

No specific date has been set for her departure. “I want to do this right,” Ruth Ann adds, “I will be here to help transition whoever is next. SDAF will be in good hands.”

As Executive Director, Ruth Ann was responsible for leading and managing SDAF. During her tenure with the organization she helped double membership numbers and tripled annual fundraising. She successfully aided in bringing more awareness to the club and earned the organization a national award. Attending at and participation in the annual ADDY awards also grew significantly.  “I’m proud of this organization and what it has accomplished over the past 12 years,” says Ruth Ann, “Now is a good time to make this transition.”

The SDAF Board of Directors is searching for a new executive director and will be taking applications through the end of the year.
